How the four sessions fit together
After the fourth focus session, a 15-minute long break replaces the 5-minute break. Turn off automatic start for the next phase to start each phase manually.
| Session | Focus period | Break afterwards |
|---|---|---|
| Session 1 | 25 minutes | 5 minutes |
| Session 2 | 25 minutes | 5 minutes |
| Session 3 | 25 minutes | 5 minutes |
| Session 4 | 25 minutes | 15-minute long break |
Build your routine
- Choose one task. Set a goal for the session, such as solving five problems or writing one paragraph.
- Adjust the timing and sessions. Set focus to 1–180 minutes, short breaks to 1–60 minutes, the final long break to 1–120 minutes, and 1–8 focus sessions. Then apply the routine.
- Choose how sessions advance. Enable automatic start for the next phase to keep the routine moving. Turn it off if you want to get ready and start each phase manually.
- Start. Work on your chosen task during focus time. During breaks, rest your body and eyes.
If you are new to this
Try a shorter focus session. Practice finishing a small task within the time you set.
Study or homework
Choose a task for each subject and switch between focus sessions. Divide a difficult assignment across several sessions.
Writing or work
Decide what to write or finish in this session. Use the break to make a little preparation for the next one.
Frequently asked questions
Do sessions have to be 25 minutes?
No. A 25-minute focus session and 5-minute break are starting presets. Adjust them to your task and your own rhythm.
Where are focus records saved?
Today's focus time and completed sessions are stored only in this browser. They do not sync to other devices, and clearing site data removes them.
Does a shared routine start immediately?
Opening a link loads the settings but does not start automatically. When studying together, each person checks the screen and starts. Progress is not synchronized between devices.
To hear your alerts
Preview the alert before starting and keep the screen on. Screen lock and sleep mode can restrict alerts. For all controls, see the User guide; to measure elapsed time, see the Stopwatch for details.
